Motorcycle-hailing startup, Gokada is now shopping for a new chief operating to take on its major rival, ORide.
The new wave of hiring is following the departure of several of its executives.
Apart from the position of the COO, Gokada has now has listed several positions to be filled across several departments in the startup.
The listing was posted on its website without dates to each of the positions.
Gokada said in the job listing for the COO that:
“The Chief Operating Officer (COO) focuses on all things related to the driver and passenger experience. The COO is responsible for driving best-in-class ride-hailing experience, operations, finance, legal and compliance, training school, fleet management, service and maintenance, safety and security, and customer support.”
The job listing is shopping for other major positions across engineering, app development and product development.
Gokada has also taken major steps to bolster its position to take on ORide, Max and other bike-haling services floated in Lagos. Last month, the startup announced that it raised $5.3 million to expand its rider network.
The funding round was led by Rise Capital with participation from Adventure Capital, First MidWest Group, IC Global Partners and several local investors.
It also announced that it plans to launch its boat service called GBoat in 2020.
