Volex moves production out of China to dodge US tariffs


Electrical cable manufacturer, Volex Plc said it has moved some of its production out of China.

The move was to dodge America’s tariffs on imports from China.

The company said in a statement that:

“However, all the Group’s facilities throughout the world can be utilised to manufacture power cord products if required.”

The America government had imposed 25% tariffs on $250 billion worth of Chinese goods. President Trump has also threatened that it could impose another $325 billion tariffs on Chinese goods.
