The Nigeria Football Federation Elections into its hierarchy has seen incumbent, Amaju Pinnick re-elected as President.
Amaju gathered a total of 34 Votes while erstwhile leader of the federation Aminu Maigari managed 8 Votes. Another former NFF official Taiwo Ogunjoi had 2 Votes while Mr Chinedu Okoye had no Votes from the total of 44 votes cast.
In the Vice-President category, Barr. Seyi Akinwunmi returned first vice president on a landslide victory. A total of 41 went to Akinwunmi while Otunba Dele Ajayi has 2 votes. invalid vote.
The elections held in Katsina this morning had in attendance observers from global football authority FIFA, while on the continent Confederations of African Football was ably represented.
FIFA, had Messrs Luca Piazza and Solomon Mudege as its observers for the elections into the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Executive Committee from 2018-2022.
Mudege is FIFA’s Senior Manager for Development Programmes (Africa) while Piazza is a senior official in the FIFA President’s office.
The Confederation of African Football, on its part also in a letter to the NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi and signed by CAF Secretary General, Amr Fahmy, designated a Member of its Executive Committee, Mr. Sita Sangare, as its Observer to the big event. Sangare, an Army Colonel, is also President of the Burkina Faso Football Federation.
Amaju Pinnick will lead the federation once again for the next four years.
