Social media giant, Facebook inc., has hired Mr. Antonio Lucio as its chief marketing officer as the company looks to repair its image after the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
Before his appointment, Antonio Lucio served as Chief Marketing & Communications Officer of HP Inc. Mr. Lucio has been Chief Marketing Officer of Hp, Inc. since April 2015.
Mr. Lucio leads the global marketing organization, including branding, demand generation, strategic events and global communications for one of the world’s most valuable brands. He served as the Chief Health & Wellness Innovation Officer of Pepsico, Inc.
He served as the Chief Brand Officer of Visa Inc. from January 2013 to April 24, 2015 and also served as its and Executive Vice President until April 2015. Prior to joining HP, Mr. Lucio served as the Global Chief Marketing Officer of Visa Inc. since February 2008 and served as its Global Head of Human Resources since September 2012.
He served as the Global Head of Strategy & Corporate Development at Visa Inc. since March 2011 and served as its Global Chief Marketing Strategy & Corporate Development Officer. He served as the Chief Marketing Officer of Visa Canada Association. Mr. Lucio has held marketing leadership and innovation roles at some of the world’s most successful consumer packaged goods companies, including RJR Foods International and Procter & Gamble.
He has more than 25 years of global marketing and brand management experience. Prior to joining Visa in December 2007, he served as the Chief Innovation, Health and Wellness Officer for PepsiCo Inc. from 2005 to December 2007, the Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of PepsiCo Beverages International from 2000 to 2004 and the Vice President of Marketing Operations of PepsiCo International from 1999 to 2000.
He served as the Vice President for Marketing for South America and the Caribbean for PepsiCo from 1996 to 1999 and the General Manager Designate of Pepsi-Cola North America from 1995 to 1996. Prior to joining PepsiCo, he served as a Director of Marketing at Kraft General Foods from 1985 to 1995.
He serves as a Director of The Advertising Council, Inc. Mr. Lucio received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Louisiana State University in 1981. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese and educated in the United States.
