A Moscow court has sentenced one of the four people who interrupted Sunday’s World Cup final between France and Croatia when they ran onto the pitch wearing fake police uniforms.
The judge also banned the pitch invader, Veronika Nikulshina, from attending sports events for three years.
According to report on Reuters, three others are due to be sentenced later on Monday.
Prior to the announcement, the Police said they were investigating the four on suspicion of violating rules for spectating at a sporting event as well as for illegally wearing police uniforms, the Interfax news agency reported.
Les Bleus defeated Croatia, 4-2 to clinch their second World Cup title in one of the highest-scoring finals in history.
