Africa’s largest economy, Nigeria, is looking at naming and unveiling its national airline at the Farnborough International Airshow.
The Farnborough International Airshow is starting today. The event which is holding at the O2 Arena, in the United Kingdom will host major players in the international airline and allied service industry.
The Nigerian aviation ministry had announced last week that it will unveil the name, logo and other identities of the airline at the airshow.
Formerly known as Nigeria Airways, the new national carrier will be a private-public partnership where the government will own majority shares but operated by private partners who will hold certain degrees of shareholding.
No details on the preferred private partner have been revealed so far. However, there are indications that Deutsche Lufthansa AG, Air France KLM are likely partners for the carrier. There are likelihoods that Airbus and or Boeing might be the preferred aircraft providers for the new startup.
