ZTE appoints Xu Ziyang as new CEO

In order to comply with the requirements of the US government to lift its ban, ZTE Corporation has appointed Xu Ziyang as its new chief executive officer.

Citing a source familiar with the matter, the Wall Street Journal said Xu Ziyang, the company’s head of German unit will be the new CEO henceforth.

ZTE’s operations in the US was banned after the company was found guilty of not punishing executives found to have conspired to evade U.S. sanctions on Iran and North Korea.
