Royal Dutch Shell shuts Forcados pipeline

Royal Dutch Shell is said to have shut down the flow of oil to the Forcados oil pipeline.

According to sources not named by Reuters News, the pipeline was shut down due to leaks.

Sources claimed that Forcados pipeline was shut down five days ago.

SPDC, a Royal Dutch Shell subsidiary and pipeline operator Heritage Oil have not yet commented on the matter.

Available data shows that the Forcados transports about 200,000 to 240,000 barrels of crude oil per day. Nigeria is Africa’s largest oil producer, a commodity that accounts for over 70% of its foreign exchange.
