Nigeria’s largest listed company, Dangote Cement Plc, is said to be looking at listing its shares on the London Stock Exchange.

The move is a global ambition that will see Dangote Cement seek to raise about $500 million via an initial public offering that will make its second listing after the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

Apart from the plan to raise money from global investors, the company’s newly-appointed CEO, Joseph Makoju, said it is looking at spending about $350 million on capital projects to expand its infrastructure capital as Nigeria exits recession.

According to people familiar with the matter, Dangote Cement has been in talks with investment bankers who will be helping out to arrange the deal.
