Adesoji Adelaja is the John A. Hannah Distinguished Professor and Director of the Land Policy Programme at Michigan State University.
He joined MSU in January 2004, prior to which he served as Executive Dean of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Rutgers University, New Jersey. ‘Soji is renowned for his work in land use policy, agricultural policy, firm viability, commercialisation of technology, economics of the nutraceutical and biotechnology industry, emerging market structures, innovation transfer for economic development and food industry development.
On sabbatical leave from MSU, ‘Soji was appointed Economic Intelligence Adviser to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a position he held until June 2015. Through his work on the Presidential Initiative for the North East, he developed a growth and rebuilding strategy for the region. ‘Soji sits on the board of Micro Solutions, Xechem, Datamax and Utilcom and served as Policy Advisor to the Secretary of Agriculture.
‘Soji holds a B.Sc. from Pennsylvania State University and holds dual Master’s degrees in Agricultural Economics and Economics, as well as a Ph.D. in Economics from West Virginia University. He joined the Board of Chapel Hill Denham in May 2005
