
South African food-service group, Bid Corporation said Brian Joffe, its chairman for many years will be stepping down from the position.
The company said it has appointed Stephen Koseff, the current head of investment baking at Investec to step in as the chairman of the group.
Dr. Brian Joffe has been the Chief Executive Officer of Long4life Limited since 2004 and has been its Executive Director since June 06, 2016. Mr. Joffe served as the Executive Chairman of Bid Corporation Limited since May, 2016 until June 30, 2017. Prior to that, he founded The Bidvest Group in 1988, where he served as Executive Chair until his appointment as Chief Executive in 2004. Mr. Joffe served as the Chief Executive Officer of Bidvest (IOM) Limited. Prior to that he served as a Managing Director of Bidvest Namibia Fisheries Holdings. He served as the Chief Executive of EW Tarry PLC. Mr. Joffe spent three years with Levitt Kirson Gross. He has 33 years of local and international commercial experience. Mr. Joffe founded Bidvest Namibia Limited and served as its Non-Executive Chairman since July 29, 1994. He has been Non Executive Chairman of BID Corporation Limited since June 30, 2017.
Mr. Joffe served as the Chairman of Bidvest Australia Limited. Previously, Mr. Joffe served as the Non-Executive Chairman of Bidcorp Plc and served as its Non-Executive Director since 2002. He has served as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Chairman of Adcock Ingram Holdings Limited from February 25, 2014 to November 11, 2015. Mr. Joffe served various Chairmanships of BID Corporation Limited from 1983 to 1988. Mr. Joffe served as a Independent Deputy Chairman of Adcock Ingram Holdings Limited from November 11, 2015 to August 21, 2017.
He has been a Non-Executive Director of Tiger Wheels Limited since January 25, 2005. Mr. Joffe has been Non-Executive Director of Bidvest Bank Limited since May 16, 2000. He has been a Non-Executive Director of Namibian Sea Products Limited since April 3, 2006 and TiAuto (Pty) Ltd. since September 2006. He served as a Non-Executive Director of Bidvest Australia Limited since December 1995 until May 18, 2017. He serves as Director of Bidvestco Limited.

He was one of the Sunday Times’ top five businessmen in 1992 and was a recipient of the Jewish Business Achiever of the Year award. He was voted South Africa’s Top Manager of the Year in 2002 in the Corporate Research Foundation’s publication “South Africa’s Leading Managers”. He was awarded the South African Chapter of the Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur Award 2003. Mr. Joffe qualified as a Chartered Accountant, South Africa (CA, SA) in 1972. He graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand.
