Morocco put four past Nigeria to win the African Nations Championship on home soil.

While it rained from the heaven naturally, the host ensured it was goal-rain against the Eagles inside Stade Mohammed V, Casablanca.

The Atlas Lions pushed for a lead from the blast of the whistle which eventually paid off in the 45th minutes just before the stroke of half time.

Zakaria Hadraf was a thorn in the flesh of the Eagles as he ensured his side cart away with the lead in the first half.

Peter Eneji who was playing his first match for Nigeria was sent off for a bookable offense in the early minutes of the starts of second half.

Walid El-Karti extended the lead in the 61st minutes before Zakaria popped up again in the 64th.

Meanwhile, highest goal scorer of the championship, Ayoub El Kaabi finally grabbed his goal in the 73rd minutes following series of scoring chances.

Morocco however finished as the most scoring side in the championship with a total of 16 goals while Nigeria comes next with 7 goals.

It was indeed a tournament for Morocco as they carted away with the individual honours as well. Zakaria Hadraf was named Man of The Match while Ayoub El-Kaabi was named Total Man of the tournament.
