Swedish mobile carrier, Millicom has crystalised merger with Bharti Aitel to form AirtelTigo in a Ghanian merger that did not take long to go through.
It will become Ghana’s third-largest mobile carrier as players in the country are consolidating to reduce losses that are becoming easy to ramp up in a market reaching saturation.
With about 10 million AirtelTigo will be far behind South Africa’s MTN Ghana which has about 45% of the market share.
Other players in the market are Vodafone, Globacom of Nigeria and Sudan’s Sudatel Expresso.
The two companies are disclosing that their revenue will reach USD300 million
