England destroy Spain to win U-17 FIFA World Cup in India

England

England national team has won the FIFA U-17 World Cup in India after beating Spain 5-2 to be crowned champions. The Spanish had taken the lead in the first half by 2-1 before England equalized in the second 45′ to claim the title.

Spain opened scoring through Sergio Gomez who netted a brace before Foden went ahead to score a brace for England, Morgan, Brewster and Guehi also getting on the score sheet for the side.

The English side beat Brazil in the semi final while Spain thrashed Mali to make it to the final in Kolkata.

Earlier, Brazil was off Africa’s representatives, Mali in the third place encounter to seal the Bronze medal as they also were awarded the Fair Play team of the tournament. Brazil goalie Brazao won the golden glove.

English striker Rhian Brewster claimed the golden boot having scored a total of 8 goals while Phil Foden wins the golden ball.
