BRIEF: Johnson Matthey named chairman of EDF subsidiary

Johnson Matthey non-executive director and remuneration committee chairman Colin Matthews has been appointed as non-executive chairman of EDF Energy Holdings, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the EDF Group, with effect from 1 Nov.

Johnson Matthey announced on 26 Jul that Matthews would be standing down with effect from 15 Nov after five years on the board.

EDF Energy is an integrated energy company in the United Kingdom, with operations spanning electricity generation and the sale of gas and electricity to homes and businesses throughout the United Kingdom. It employs 14,908 people and handles 5.7 million customer accounts.
