Dangote Sugar Refinery names Etim Bassey as Acting CFO

Dangote Sugar Refinery has announced to Nigerian Stock Exchange and its shareholders, the appointment of Mr Etim Bassey as interim Chief Finance Officer.

The company made this know through an official statement to the NSE stating that Mr Etim Bassey’s appointment was effective from December 13, 2016.


About Dangote Sugar Refinery

Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc, DSR, is located in Apapa Port in Lagos, Nigeria. It started commercial production in late 1999 with initial design capacity of 1,850 MT of refined sugar per day. Between the years 2001 and 2005 the daily production capacity was increased, through two major expansions, to its current daily capacity of 4,000 MT of refined sugar.

In 2007, the refinery went public and currently listed in Nigeria stock exchange.

Savannah Sugar Company was established by the Federal Government in 1971. Transfer of ownership to DIL took place in 2003.Cultivating a total of 18,000 hectares-employing approximately 20,000 made up of direct employees and farmer out growers.

FOS – designed in conjunction with national sugar development council. Projection is to produce 1 million tonnes of white sugar by 2015Cultivating 100,000 hectares in 4 states
