Gawie Erasmus resigns from Afrocentric Investment

Afrocentric Investment Corp Limited has disclosed the resignation of Gawie Erasmus from the company as an executive director and chief executive officer of Pharmacy Direct Proprietary Limited with effect from 31 August 2017.

The company said in a statement that “The Board thanks Gawie Erasmus for his contribution to the Company and wishes him well in his future role in the IT industry”.

Mr. Gawie Erasmus, CA (SA) has been Chief Executive Officer of Pharmacy Direct of Afrocentric Investment Corp. since January 2016 and serves as its Executive Director. Mr. Erasmus served as Chief Executive Officer of Activo Health Proprietary Limited since January 2014. Mr. Erasmus served as a Partner Programme Executive at SilverBridge Holdings Limited.

He served as Executive of Global Expansion at SilverBridge Holdings Limited and is responsible for executing the global expansion strategy. He served as Chief Executive Officer of SDT financial Software Solutions. Mr. Erasmus joined SilverBridge in 2007 and has extensive experience in managing IT application implementations. He has a successful track record of more than 15 years in leading and transforming business divisions, finance teams and delivering complex operational solutions in South Africa and across the African continent.

He has held various senior management positions in companies such as KPMG, CS Holdings and Pebble Bed Modular Reactor during his 14 year career. He served as an Executive Director of SDT Financial Software Solutions (Pty) at SilverBridge Holdings Limited since September 23, 2008. Under his leadership, Pharmacy direct has yielded positive growth in the CCMDD programme for the National department of Health.

Mr. Erasmus qualified as a Chartered Accountant. After his studies at the Universities of Pretoria and South Africa respectively, he did his articles at KPMG in 1999.
