Diamond bank posts 3% rise in profit for half year

Diamond Bank plc one of Nigeria’s tier banks is reporting 3% rise in profit to NGN9.3 billion for the six months compared to NGN9.0 billion profit recorded same period in the fiscal year 2016.

The bank recorded an increased interest income of NGN89.0 billion against NGN67.7  billion recorded in the year before while interest expense also increased to NGN27.3 billion from NGN17.7 billion posted in the year before.

Diamond Bank net interest income rose to NGN61.6 billion in 2017 against NGN49.9 billion posted in the year before. Impairment charges for the period was NGN20.3 billion against 18.9 billion in the year 2016. Net Operating income increased to NGN62.9 billion from NGN57.4 billion in the year before,

Total assets stood at NGN2.0 trillion and total liabilities remained at NGN1.8 trillion.
