Old Mutual has appointed Dr Alan Gillespie, its Senior Independent Director, to join the Group Audit Committee of the Board of Old Mutual with effect from 1 August 2017.
Old Mutual said from that date, the members of the GAC will be Roger Marshall (Chairman), Mike Arnold, Alan Gillespie, Adiba Ighodaro and Vassi Naidoo.
The change in the composition of the GAC follows the resignation of Dr Nkosana Moyo from the Board, which was announced on 29 June 2017.
Dr. Alan R. Gillespie, CBE, B.A., M.A., Ph.D., serves as the Chairman of Management Board of University Challenge Fund for Northern Ireland. Dr. Gillespie served as the Chief Executive Officer of CDC Capital Partners and CDC Group plc. He served as Managing Director of Goldman Sachs International.
He served at Goldman, Sachs & Co. He serves as the Chairman at Industrial Development Board for Northern Ireland. From 2001 to 2008, he served as the Chairman of Ulster Bank Group. He served as the Chairman of the Board at Alliance & Leicester plc since September 2008. He has been an Independent Non Executive Director of Old Mutual plc since November 3, 2010 and has been its Senior Independent Director since May 12, 2011.
Dr. Gillespie served as Senior Independent Director of UBM plc until May 17, 2017 and served as its Non-Executive Director since April 13, 2008 until May 17, 2017. He served as Non Executive Director at Elan Corporation Limited from March 1996 to May 24, 2007. He serves as the Chairman at The Economic And Social Research Council.
He served as Chairman of International Finance Facility for Immunisation Company until February 2012. He studied at University of Cambridge.
