
EgyptAir has confirmed that the United States (US) has lifted the in-cabin ban on laptops and other large electronic devices on U.S.-bound flights from Egypt to New York starting 12 July.
The airline posted on its official twitter handle ‘The electronic ban has been lifted on EGYPTAIR flights to New York. effective today Wednesday, July 12th. #ElectronicBan
Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation Sherif Fathi said “the ban lift will be effective of [Wednesday] and the ban continues, however, on EgyptAir flights to London,” according to a statement by the airline.
The Chairman & CEO of the airline, Safwat Musallam said that “the ban would be lifted for a year, after which its lifting would be subject to review,” reported by Reuters.
Earlier this month, the ban has been lifted on Etihad Airways, Emirates, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways joining Royal Jordanian and Kuwait Airways.
