Nigeria, Ghana qualify for Africa cup of nations volleyball championship

Nigeria’s senior national volleyball team have booked a place alongside Ghana in qualifying for the African cup of nations and automatically qualified for the World Cup qualifiers.

Speaking shortly before departing Niamey in Niger Republic, venue of the zonal championship in a telephone chat with PageOne’s correspondent Isaac Afolabi, one of the player Afun Idowu said the team will is fulfilled with the achievement in Niger.

Afun who is one of the two players picked from ondo state however commended the welfare package dolled out to the team despite short preparation.

On his part, coach of the team Samuel Ajayi advocates quick call up, early preparation and adequate welfare package which he said were some of the challenges faced by the team.

The city of Cairo, Egypt will host the qualifications from October 22nd to 29th 2017 and top three teams from the event will represent Africa at the World Cup.
