Columbus Gold said it has appointed Andrew Yau as its interim secretary. His appointed is coming after the resignation of Jenna Virk.
The company said the appointment of Andrew Yau is temporary and the position of Jenna Virk will be filled as soon as possible.
Mr. Andrew Yau, CPA, CGA has been the Chief Financial Officer of Organto Foods Inc. since May 09, 2016. Mr. Yau serves as Financial Controller of Columbus Copper Corporation. Mr. Yau has been Chief Financial Officer of Columbus Gold Corp. since May 20, 2016 and served as its Financial Controller.
He served as Controller of Organto. In addition to being responsible for financial reporting and tax compliance, Mr. Yau is a key contributor to developing and implementing internal controls and reporting frameworks at various companies. He has been in accounting and finance roles with publicly listed companies since 2006 and held controller positions with various precious metals producers, including Great Panther Silver Limited and Silvermex Resources Inc.
He has strong working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and public company reporting requirements. He is a Certified General Accountant. Mr. Yau holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Business Administration degree from the University of British Columbia
