Africa Energy appoints Garrett Soden as President, CEO

Africa Energy said it has appointed Garrett Soden as President and Chief Executive Officer

The company said Africa Energy Corp- Garrett Soden is James Phillips who has elected to retire.

Mr. Garrett Soden has served as a Senior Executive and Board Member at the Lundin Group of Companies since 2007. Mr. Soden has been Non-Executive Director of Petropavlovsk PLC since June 2017.

Mr. Soden serves as Non-Executive Director of Etrion Corporation. He was appointed as a Director of Etrion Corporation in November 2013. He has been a Non-Executive Director of Panoro Energy ASA since May 2015 and Gulf Keystone Petroleum Limited since October 2016. Mr. Soden served as Interim Chief Financial Officer of Etrion Corporation from November 2013 to June 2014 and again from October 2014 to November 2015.

Mr. Soden served as Chief Financial Officer of Etrion Corporation from September 2009 to March 2012. He served as the Chief Financial Officer of PetroFalcon Corporation from December 2006 to September 2009 when PetroFalcon Corporation changed its name to Etrion Corporation.

Mr. Soden served as the Chief Executive Officer of RusForest AB (publ) from August 2012 to July 2013 and served as its Chairman from July 2013 to May 2015. He served as an Equity Research Analyst at Lehman Brothers in New York and a Financial Analyst in the M&A group at Salomon Brothers in New York. He served in the White House at the National Economic Council and served as Senior Policy Advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Energy.

He served as Non-Executive Director of PA Resources AB (publ) from October 2015 to February 2016. Mr. Soden holds a B.Sc. honors degree from the London School of Economics and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
