Emmanuel Chiejina retires from Access bank board

Mr. Emmanuel Chiejina has retired as a Non-Executive Director from the Board of Directors (the “Board”) of Access Bank Plc (the “Company”) with effect from June 23, 2017. This follows his completion of the maximum term limit of 12 years on the Board as allowed by the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Code of Corporate Governance for Banks.

Mr. Chiejina has confirmed that he has no disagreement with the Board and there is no issue relating to his retirement that needs to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the Company or the regulatory authorities. With the retirement of Mr. Chiejina, the Company now has 14 Directors comprising 6 Executives and 8 Non-Executive Directors (including 4 Independent Directors).

Mr. Ndubuisi Emmanuel Chiejina, LLB, BL, M.Sc. serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Ashbard Energy Company Limited. Mr. Chiejina worked for 27 years with ELF Petroleum Nigeria Limited(Total E&P) and retired as Deputy Managing Director in 2007.

He has been Non-Executive Director at Access Bank Plc (formerly, Access Bank Nigeria) since June 1, 2005. He has been a Director of Staco Assurance Plc since October 12, 2006. He also serves as a Director of F&C group and Green Technologies Limited. He served as a Director of STACO Insurance Plc since October 12, 2006. He was educated at Cranfield Institute of Technology, Europena Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD 1994/1995), university of London and London Business School. Mr. Chiejina is a 1975 law graduate of the University of Lagos.
