Tony Colman is a Director of Africa Practice group. He has responsibility for strengthening relationships with the United Nations (UN) system and supporting the group’s expansion programme.
Tony also supports the group’s work in the area of infrastructure, applying his vast experience designing and promoting public-private partnerships (PPP) to the challenge of developing vital infrastructure in Africa. Tony is a member of the UK Labour Party and was elected Member of Parliament for Putney on 1 May 1997.
He was chair of the Public Private Partnership Programme Ltd until October 1998. Tony was a member of the UK Parliamentary International Development Select Committee and a frequent contributor to debates on trade and industry, finance, the environment and foreign affairs.
Prior to entering parliament, Tony was a founding member and board director of the Burton Group. He started his professional career with Unilever in Nigeria and Kenya.
