Linkage Assurance Plc has appointed Dr. Pius Apere as its new managing director and CEO.
The company said, Dr. Apere’s appointment has been confirmed by our primary regulator. the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and it took effect from Friday 3rd February, 2017.
Dr. Pius Apere obtained a PhD. in Actuarial Science from the CASS Business School, City University in London in 2005. He also attended the CASS Business School. City University, London. United Kingdom from 1992-1994 where he obtained a M.Sc. He did his undergraduate study at the University of Lagos where he obtained a B.Sc. in Actuarial Science from 1981-1984 He obtained his West African School Certificate from Oproza Grammar School, Patani, Nigeria in 1974.
Dr. Pius Apere was the Life Manager at Unity Life & Insurance Company in Nigeria from 1989-1991. He was also a Consulting Partner at Chike Oyeka & Co (Actuarial Consultant) Nigeria from 1991-1992 and worked as the Head of Life Insurance Department at Cornerstone Insurance Company in Nigeria in 1992. He worked at Zurich Assurance Swindon United Kingdom as an Actuarial Analyst from 2005-2006. In 2007. he was the prophet library developer (Temp) for Sungard Chestsey, Surrey in the United Kingdom. He also worked as an Actuarial Analyst for Lloyds Banking Group (HBOs). in Bristol, United Kingdom from 2008-2010.
He also worked with Ernst & Young in London. United Kingdom from 2010-2011 and later in the year of 2011 he assumed position as the Managing Director of Anchor Actuarial Services Limited in London. United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London. He has a Diploma in Actuarial Techniques and Certificate in Finance and Investment both obtained from the institute of Actuaries in the United Kingdom. Prior to his appointment as Managing Director/CEO he served as the Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of Linkage Assurance Plc.
