Gemgrow Properties has announced the appointment of Arnold Basserabie to its board as an independent non-executive director with immediate effect.
In a statement released by the company, Arnold Basserabie was employed by the Fedsure Financial Services Group from the time of his graduation from the University of the Witwatersrand with a BSc in Maths and Statistics, until the Group
was sold in 2001.
Arnold Basserabie was the Group Chief Executive Officer from 1988 until 2001. Between 1998 and 2001 the Group’s asset base grew by about 25% per annum compounded to approximately R49 billion.
During the 1990’s Arnold contributed to the formation and development of a number of emerging businesses in South Africa. Since the early 2000’s Arnold has been practising as a strategic business consultant, focusing on strategy and business development, mergers and acquisitions and related activities.
These activities have been carried out in a diverse range of industries such as financial services, risk management, property development, manufacturing and distribution, business re-engineering and the aircraft industry.
