President Buhari has spoken through his media aide that he will not be coming back to the country today.
Femi Adesina, the president’s spokesperson said:
“President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the National Assembly today, February 5, 2017, informing of his desire to extend his leave in order to complete and receive the results of a series of tests recommended by his doctors”.
“The President had planned to return to Abuja this (Sunday) evening, but was advised to complete the test cycle before returning”.
“The notice has since been dispatched to the Senate President, and Speaker, House of Representatives”.
“Mr. President expresses his sincere gratitude to Nigerians for their concern, prayers and kind wishes,”
President Muhammadu Buhari left Nigeria for a 10-day vacation on Monday January 23 and was billed to return to work on Monday February 6, 2017.
Several fake news sites have reported that President Buhari had passed on in the United Kingdom. The President’s media team had denied those reports.
The continuous delay in his return to the country will further fuel speculations about his health.
