Cameroon edge Egypt to claim AFCON 2017 title


The indomitable Lions of of Cameroon have won the 2017 African cup of nations after beating Egypt 2-1 in the final.

Vincent Aboubakar scored the winner with just two minutes left.

The Pharaohs had gone ahead in the 22nd minutes through Arsenal midfielder Mohammed Elneny to end the first half 1-0 before Nicolas Nkoulou put the lions back in the game.

The last time Cameroon won the nation’s cup was fifteen years ago in Lagos, Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Christian Bassogog was adjudged best player of the tournament.
