David joined the Executive Committee in 2008 and the Board as an Executive Director in 2010. He is a member of the Models, Concentration Risk and Information Technology Committees.
David is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer and responsible for the Group’s South African operations. He completed his articles with KPMG and became a partner in the financial services team. He then joined Standard Bank group, where he was involved in group risk and retail credit functions. David joined the Group in 2008 as the Chief Risk Officer and became the Group’s Financial Director on 1 March 2010. In December 2013, David was appointed as Deputy Chief Executive Officer. From August 2016, he assumed responsibility for the Group’s South African operations including Retail and Business Banking and Corporate and Investment Bank. (Jason Quinn took over responsibility as Financial Director from 1 September 2016.)
Qualifications: BCom; CA(SA); MBA.
