Prior to his appointment at ArcelorMittal South Africa, Alph was employed by the Aveng Group Limited, a leading Infrastructure development company listed company on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange where he held the positions of Group Executive: Africa; Managing Director, Aveng Trident Steel; Acting MD Steeledale and Group Senior Executive respectively.
In his career, Alph also occupied various senior positions in a number of industries which among others include Steel, Petrochemical, Packaging, FMCG and Transport. He has in the process acquired vast experience in the areas of Operations, Commercial & Finance and General Management. His previous non-executive directorships include among others, Hwange Colliery (Zimbabwe), BP Mozambique Limitada (BoardChairman), Vesco, Collect-A-Can and Masana Petroleum. He was the Vice President and non-Executive director of Steel and Engineering Industries Federation of Southern Africa (SEIFSA) and currently an Executive Director at Parc Randon Gas (Pty) Ltd and AM6 Chemicals and Supplies (Pty) Ltd.
