William Simon O’Regan, Non-executive Director, AF Holdings

Mr. William Simon O’Regan has been the President of North America at Mercer, Inc. since July 2015. Mr. O’Regan has been the President of North America Region at Mercer (Canada) Limited at Mercer LLC since July 2015, covering the US and Canada. He served as a Senior Partner at Mercer Group Limited, Mercer LLC and Mercer, Inc. from September 11, 2015 to September 18, 2015.

He served as the President of EuroPac Region at Mercer LLC and Mercer, Inc. from 2012 to July 2015, covering Europe and Pacific (Australia/New Zealand). He served as the President of EuroPac Region at Mercer Limited. His global career has covered a wide range of financial services areas, including life and health insurance, pensions and investments. Mr. O’Regan served as the President of Retirement, Risk & Finance Consulting of Mercer (Canada) Limited, Mercer, Inc., Mercer (Ireland) Limited, Mercer Limited and Mercer (US) Inc.

He served as the Global Head of Regions at Mercer LLC and Mercer, Inc. He served as a Region Head at Mercer Europe. From 1996 to 1999, he served at Vanguard, helping to establish their funds management business in Australia. From 2005 to 2009, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Mercer UK. From 2005 to 2009, he served as Mercer’s Europe Region Head and from 2009 to August 2012 and he was responsible for Mercers Global Retirement, Risk and Finance business. He served as Member of the Global Executive Team at Mercer, Inc. He served as the Head of Europe and Asia-Pacific Operations of Mercer (US) Inc. and served as its Chief Executive Officer of UK. He joined Mercer in London in 1988 and transferred to Melbourne, Australia in 1989. Mr. O’Regan served as the head of the Melbourne office of Mercer from 1993 to 1996. He served for three years away from Mercer establishing a funds management business in Australia and served as Chief Executive Officer of Australia/NZ company from 2000 to October 2004. He served for eight years at a number of life insurance companies in Ireland, Zimbabwe and the UK. He has been a Non-Executive Director of Alexander Forbes Group Holdings Limited and Alexander Forbes Equity Holdings (Proprietary) Limited since July 31, 2014 and has been a Director at Investment & Financial Services Association since March 2005. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries (Scotland) and a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia. He was educated in South Africa. Mr. O’Regan has an Honors degree in Business Science from the University of Cape Town.
