The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has confirmed that the country is expecting about twenty-two ships laden with Petrol, food items and other goods to arrive Apapa and Tin-Can Island Ports in Lagos.
The ships are expected to arrive at the ports from 10 – 21 January, NPA confirmed in its Shipping Position publication.
Two of the ships will arrive with aviation fuel and petrol while the remaining 19 ships were carrying buck wheat, general cargoes, base oil, frozen fish, aviation fuel, empty container, bulk gypsum and containers, News Agency of Nigeria confirmed.
It said that four ships were waiting to berth with bulk fertiliser, containers, frozen fish and petrol. About 18 other ships are at the ports discharging empty containers, bulk wheat, bulk fertiliser, frozen fish, containers, aviation fuel, bulk gypsum and petrol.
It could be recalled that the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) began its three-day nationwide warning strike which may trigger another round of products scarcity and hardship to citizens.
The strike was birth in a bid to protest the pay and sacking of some of its members.
