Prince Kofi Amoabeng, Director, UT Bank

Mr. Prince Kofi Amoabeng is the President and Co-Founder of the UT Group of Companies and immediate past Chief Executive Officer of the Bank.

He is a Retired Military Officer (Captain) and an Investment Consultant. He graduated from the University of Ghana with a B.Sc Administration, (Accounting) and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA-UK) and a member of the Chartered Accountants CA (GH).

Kofi Amoabeng has extensive experience in managing businesses through excellent customer relations, strategic and tactical business planning as well as strategic partnerships including twelve years as a Lecturer at the Ghana Stock Exchange.

His achievements include winning the coveted title of “Ghana’s Most Respected CEO’ which is organized by Pricewaterhousecoopers and B&FT for three consecutive years (2008, 2010 and 2012).

He was Marketing Man of the Year (2006) and  was named as Johnny Walker’s Giant for Ghana in 2012. He was also ‘Best Entrepreneur’ Ghana Entrepreneurs Award (2011);  Third Most Influential Ghanaian as compiled by ETV, Ghana (2012)  and  joint finalist ‘Ernst & Young West Africa Entrepreneur of the Year Award’ (2011).

He also received the ‘National Honor for an Order of the Star of the Volta’ (Officer’s Division) presented by the President of Ghana in 2008 and was one of two Ghanaians profiled in Moky Makura’s book on Africa’s Greatest Entrepreneurs.

Mr. Kofi Amoabeng is a member of the Board of Directors of the Ghana Interbank Payment Settlement System (GHIPSS), Chairman of the Council of Enablis Ghana (a Canadian Entrepreneurial NGO) and a member of the International Advisory Board of China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), in Ghana.
