Samuel Dakurah, Banking Technolgy, UT Bank

Samuel Dakurah is a senior IT professional with over 13 years work experience in the IT industry. His banking expertise spans software development, systems administration, project management and a host of banking applications, infrastructure and web-based technologies.

Prior to joining UT Bank, Samuel headed the automation unit of UBA Ghana as a Systems Analyst\Programmer. He developed and implemented the first Real-time Transactions Notification System (Wise Alerts) in the Ghanaian banking industry for UBA Ghana Limited and handled the automation of over 70% of the bank’s operational process, thereby improving efficiency in the bank’s operations and service delivery.

Upon joining UT Bank as the Manager of the E-Business Department, Samuel was tasked with setting up the bank’s E-Business Infrastructure and operations. In his first year he led UT Bank to win the third runner-up award for the Best bank IT/Electronic Banking in the 2010 Ghana Banking Awards. The bank subsequently won the first position for Best Bank IT/ Electronic Banking in the 2012 Ghana Banking Awards under his stewardship in the E-business department. He currently heads the Banking Technology department of the bank leading the banks overall IT strategy and operations.

Samuel Dakurah holds a BSC in Computer Science from Regent University College of Science and Technology and an MSc in Engineering Project Management from Coventry University, UK as well as various professional certifications in IT and Banking.
