Real Madrid and Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo  has received the best player award at the seventh edition of the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai on Tuesday.

The Portuguese and his national team coach at Euro 2016, Fernando Santos both cart away with prizes as result of their star performance which helped the country claim their first major title.

It could be recalled that Ronaldo recently won the 2016 FIFA Ballon d’Or for the fourth time.

“Probably (this) was my best year so far,” Ronaldo said in a video message HR released after winning Ballon d’Or.

“The people still doubt about me, about Real Madrid, about national team, and you have the proof. We win everything, so amazing year, I’m so happy.”

The 62-year-old Santos was named best manager after masterminding Portugal’s success in France, while Champions League winners Real Madrid took home the prize for club of the year.

Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery also received an award having led Sevilla to a third straight Europa League crown before leaving for France. while former Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o was lauded for his career achievements.

Real Madrid was announce the best club of the year while Florentino Perez won the President of the year.
