Stephen Abban, Head of Personal Banking, Access Bank Ghana

Stephen Abban graduated from the University of Ghana with a BSc in Agriculture 16 years ago and served as a Research Assistant at the University of Ghana for one year.

Due to his exceptional performance he was awarded a scholarship to pursue his postgraduate studies at the University of Glasgow and graduated with M.sc in Information Technology in 2000.

On return to Ghana, Steve joined Bank of Africa in 2001 as IT Manager and later Guaranty Trust Bank, where he was the Head of Technology. At Guaranty Trust Bank, Steve successfully set up the entire IT infrastructure and managed the IT systems to support the bank’s operations.

With his passion for solution-driven customer service, Steve was appointed the Divisional Head of Retail and Transaction Banking at Guaranty Trust Bank where he deployed several innovative solutions to drive the bank’s Retail and Transaction Banking businesses till November 2012 when he joined Access Bank (Ghana) Limited.

Stephen Abban is an alumnus of the Columbia Business School programme on High Impact Leadership and the High Potential Leadership program at the Harvard Business School, USA.
