Security situation in Kafanchan in Kaduna state, North West Nigeria, is not getting any better. The incessant killing of innocent residents has led to a curfew which was announced some minutes ago.
The curfew which is to be adhered to by all residents was declared by Dr. Bege Katuka the Interim caretaker committee chairman of Jema’a local government Area in Kaduna State.
According to the committee, the 24 hours curfew in Kafanchan town as a result of mass rally protest over the persistence killings in Southern Kaduna.
Hundreds of Youths, Women and Children had this morning took to the street to protest persistent killings of their loved ones by gunmen suspected to be herdsmen.
Kafanchan is the headquarters of Jema’a local government area as well as the commercial centre of the Southern Kaduna zone.
Apart from the menace of Boko Haram terror killings in the North Eastern part of Nigeria, pockets of herdsmen and bandits attacks has surfaced across Nigeria. The federal government has not been able to stop killings and clashes blamed on herdsmen.
Apart from the tragic loss of lives to these attacks, no official review has been done to ascertain financial and economic loss incurred as a result of destruction of farmlands and property.
