Mrs. Julia Oku Jacks is a graduate from the University of Calabar with a first class honours degree in English and Literary Studies and received her Master’s degree in Development/Area Studies from the School of Oriental Studies, University of London.
She is also an alumnus of Lagos Business School (now Pan African University).
Mrs. Julia Oku Jacks has had a varied working experience in academics, advertising, and corporate marketing. She lectured African American and Caribbean literature at the University of Calabar, from where she made a career shift to marketing communication with Insight Communications, one of the foremost advertising agencies in the country.
After leaving Insight Communications, she worked as Programme Oficer, Media, Arts and Culture in the West Africa office of Ford Foundation, a leading international philanthropic organisation.
Julia Oku Jacks is founder of Cue Media, a content development organisation which developed content for the acclaimed MNET “New Directions” initiative. Currently, Mrs. Oku Jacks heads the Corporate Strategy and Development Department of Moni Pulo Limited.
Mrs. Oku Jacks served for several years on the training committee of Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) and ran its Creative Training and Writing Courses for five consecutive years. She was a member of the Re-branding Nigeria Project and is a member of the Board of Trustees of Women in Management and Business (WIMBIZ)..
