Assistant Coach of Ondo State basketball team Ondo Raiders, Fisayo Bello has expressed confidence that his side will pick the last slot to play in the elite division next year.
Coach Bello gave the assurance in an interview with our sports correspondent Isaac Afolabi shortly after the team return from the one week national division one tournament which was decided at the indoor hall of the National Stadium, Abuja.
He noted that having won four of their seven games, the team awaits the final decision of the Nigeria basketball federation (NBBF) decision in awarding the final slot to the best team with facilities, supporters among others to participate at the top flight.
Ondo Raiders recorded another win in their last game defeating Police bombers of Lagos by 55-52.
In his reaction chairman Ondo state basketball association Mr Segun Ikuesan said necessary logistics will be put in place to pick the last slot and bring the game back to the state.
However two teams have automatically qualified to play in the elite division next year which includes Civil Defence Basketball team and Hoops and Reeds Basketball Team.
