Viraj grew up in India and although he moved to the US aged 17 to study engineering, his heart always remained in Asia. After a career in investment banking at Citigroup and Goldman Sachs in India and the UK, Viraj was keen to move back to growth markets; believing they offered the most dynamic growth environment for the foreseeable future.
His passion for finance and desire to move to the buy-side prompted him to move to Actis in 2008, where he joined a team of bright, down-to-earth people, who shared his enthusiasm for growth markets. Its people and its track record are what made Actis into a door-opening brand.
Viraj has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor and an MBA from the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad.
