Alfred Nsarkoh, Managing Director, Unilever Nigeria

Mr. Alfred Nsarkoh has served as Managing Director, Executive Director of Unilever Nigeria Plc. since January 1, 2014.

He obtained his GCE O and A Level certificates from Achimota College, Accra, in 1985 and 1987, respectively, after which he enrolled into the University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering in 1992.

In 1999, he obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Management. He started his working career at Unilever Ghana Limited on December 1, 1993 as a Management Trainee (Shift Manager for Foods).

On April 1, 1995, he was promoted to the level of Assistant Production Manager for Foods. He became the Production Manager for Foods on October 1, 1996, Brand Manager (Culinary Products) on August 1, 1998, Senior Brand Manager (Cooking Products) on October 1, 2000, Marketing Manager for Foods on April 1, 2001 while continuing as substantive Senior Brand Manager.

From April 2002 to June 2004, he was Marketing Manager for Personal Care and led the Personal Care Business Team (General Management responsibility for the Personal Care Business of Unilever Ghana).

Between June 2004 and October 2004, he was the Marketing Manager for Foods and let the Foods Business Team (General Management responsibility for the Foods business of Unilever Ghana).

He was promoted to the position of Regional Brand Manager for Omo for Africa, Laundry Regional Innovation Center based in Durban, South Africa. From 2006 to 2008, he was the Marketing Director and Member of the Board of Directors of Unilever Ghana Limited. Between 2008 and 2010, he was Strategic Assistant to the Unilever Executive Member and President for Asia Africa Central and Eastern Europe, 100VE, Unilever Head Office, London.

Until his appointment, he was Managing Director, Unilever East and Southern Africa, based in Kenya.

He is Member of the Executive Committee of the Company.
