Mr. Chris Bale is an engineer and spent the early part of his career in manufacturing management. He then moved on to the power industry with the government-owned CEGB in the UK, and Powergen after privatisation.
He subsequently assumed executive responsibility for Powergen’s electricity trading in the UK Power pool and operations at East Midlands Electricity distribution with 2.7 million customers.
In 2001, he joined Scottish Power as Director of Operations in the Generation Business where he had day-to-day responsibility for all the company’s UK sites including wind farms, pumped storage, hydro-electric, biomass, CHP sites and major coal and CCGT plants totalling over 6000MW of capacity.
Chris Bale holds an MBA and has attended the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Programme. He is also a fellow of the RAS in the UK.
