Buhari Arrives Ondo, Reassures Nigerians on Campaign Promises

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday said that the Government will continue to fulfill its promises to Nigerians during his visit to Ondo State for All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally for November 26 governorship election.

The president in a statement confirmed his arrival and also confirmed that the government will continue to work to fulfill our promises on Security, the Economy & fighting Corruption.

”I’m in Akure today for the grand finale Rally of our party’s Governorship campaign. First I met with all our aspirants, and party leaders.

”I’m pleased that those who lost the Ondo primaries are still very much in the APC. That you lose elections doesn’t mean you should walk away”

”Let me assure all Nigerians that our Government will continue to work to fulfill our promises on Security, the Economy & fighting Corruption.”

The Governor of Ondo state, Dr Olusegun Mimiko; Dr kayode Fayemi, Minister of Solid Mineral Development; Chief Olagunsoye Oyinlola, former governor of Osun and Sen. Tayo Alasoadura, member, representing Ondo Central at the Senate were on ground to receive the president.

Others were Alhaji Alli Olanusi, former Ondo deputy governor; Mr Isaac Kekemeke, former chairman of APC in Ondo State; Mr Jamiu Ekungba, a contestant in the APC primary election that produced Chief Rotimi Akeredolu.

In the entourage of the president were Alhaji Lai Muhammed, Minister of Information and Culture; Gov. Umar Tanko Almakura of Nasarawa State and Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State.

The Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki and the APC National Chairman, John Odigie Oyegun, arrived at different times after the president had left the airport.

The rally kicked off after 1pm, with governors speaking first.

Former Governor Adams Oshimhole roused the crowd, comparing Ondo and his Edo state, saying the two states were rescued from the PDP in 2008. Governor Olusegun Mimiko, Oshiomhole noted, unfortunately returned it to the PDP, which he described as a party of armed robbers.
