
Although the games are not coming up sometime soon, however, the Cameroon FA remain Coy that the indomitable Lions can beat Nigeria Super Eagles when they clash twice next year in order to book a place in Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The Super Eagles will host the Indomitable Lions come August 27, and then travel for the return leg in Cameroon September 2nd. The Eagles have maintained a hundred percent record having defeated Zambia in the opener on away soil, and Algeria in a recent fixture. With about four points from the games against Cameroun, Russia 2018 qualification will almost be a done for Nigeria.
Cameroon on the other hand drew both games they have played recording a series of 1-1 in the matches against Algeria away and Zambia at home.
Meanwhile, the the Cameroonian FA strongly in a statement believe that victories from the games against the Eagles will set the team on track.
“In order to maintain a positive record on the performances of our national team, only one goal is needed: to shine in Gabon and to win both matches against Nigeria, “ Fécafoot stated in a press release.
“Despite the timorous performance today (Sunday) against Zambia, senior LIC are fully aware of the issues and their determination will lead them to victory.”
Coach Hugo Broos, the team’s handler also added, “Before this match, we already knew that the matches against Nigeria will be decisive. “We will have to win to have another chance to go to the World Cup. We have eight months to prepare.”
