Mr Ola Olabinjo has over 20 years’ banking experience which spans across Investment and Corporate Banking, Risk Management, Treasury, Transaction Banking and Operations.
He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience having served as Divisional Head of Corporate and Commercial Banking at First City Monument Bank Limited and previously as Divisional Director and Head of Corporate Banking at Skye Bank Plc. where he oversaw and had responsibility for business development in the oil & gas, telecoms, power, construction, FMCGs and financial institutions group.
Prior to these, he served as Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer at Law Union and Rock Insurance following its acquisition by Prudent Bank and as Head of Public Sector Group at Prudent Bank with responsibility for growing the public sector franchise for tax and revenue collections working with various states to improve Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
Ola has led various teams to successfully advise, structure and arrange debt financing for major infrastructural projects in the Oil and Gas, Power, FMCGs and Telecom sectors. Notable amongst these includes completion of financing arrangement and structuring of a USD $50million gas conversion plant project (The first carbon credit qualifying project in Nigeria).
Ola also served as a member of the Presidential Advisory Council on Code Red (The Environment).
An alumnus of the Lagos Business School, he holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Ife and the Lagos State University respectively.
An ardent golfer, and a lover of classical & jazz music; Ola is married with children.
