Elias Igbinakenzua Leaves Access Bank

Access Bank PLC has announced that one of its Executive Directors, Elias Igbinakenzua has resigned his appointment from the board of the company.

In a statement signed by Sunday Ekwochi and released by the company,  “Mr. Elias Igbinakenzua , Executive Director, Corporate and Investment Banking Division of Access Bank Plc (the “Bank”), following his decision to pursue some other personal interests, has tendered his resignation to the Board of Directors (the Board) of the Bank on October 28, 2016″

The statement added that “The Board has accordingly accepted his resignation and approved that he proceeds on his Garden Leave as from December, 2016,

The company however noted that “Mr. Igbinakenzua has confirmed that he has no disagreement with the Board and there are no other matters relating to his resignation that need to be brought to the attention of the shareholders, creditors and regulators of the Bank, The Board has expressed its gratitude to Mr. Igbinakenzua for his contributions to the Bank during his tenure and offered its best wishes to him”.

Elias holds a B.Sc. Second Class Upper Degree in Accounting from the University of Benin, an MBA from Enugu State University, and M.Sc. Corporate Finance from the University of Liverpool, UK.

His banking experience, which is over 24 years, cuts across Audit and Internal Control, Treasury and Financial Institutions, Commercial Banking, Branch management, Corporate Banking and Investment Banking.

He joined Zenith Bank Plc. in 1993 and was appointed Executive Director of the Bank in 2005.

Prior to joining Zenith Bank, he trained with PricewaterhouseCoopers between 1988 and 1992, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992, became an Associate Member of ICAN, and was admitted into Institute’s Fellowship in 2004.

Elias is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, and the Institute of Credit Administration of Nigeria. A member of the Institute of Directors of Nigeria and chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.

He has attended several Executive Management Development programmes in Insead, Wharton, Harvard Business School, and Lagos Business School.
