West Ham United And Ifeanyi Ubah FC To Organize Talent Hunt in Nigeria

The partnership between FC Ifeanyi Ubah and West Ham United is beginning to bear fruits as the English club will have its officials storm Nigeria this week.

Sometime in December, some Coaches and scouts of West Ham United will be in Nigeria to organise a scouting programme aimed at identifying new talents form the grassroots, specifically for kids between ages of 6 – 15 years.They will offer technical support throughout the duration of the project.

Therefore selected kids will be enrolled into Ifeanyi Ubah football academy with the aim of harnessing their talents, thus providing West Ham United with a pool of talented players to pick from on a quarterly basis according to report on Vanguard.

Our discussions since the unveiling of this historic partnership has always been centred on football development, with the discovery of future football stars in a country so rich in football talents waiting to be harnessed top on the priority list, – Capital Oil & Gas President Dr Ifeanyi Ubah told newsmen at the weekend.

”WestHam are known to have one of the best academies in the world having produced players like Sir Trevor Brooking, Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick to mention a few and they are eager to identify and handpick talented African players that they can develop. The search for the next Lampard, Payet, Kanu and Okocha just begun and we believe this talent hunt will help us achieve our goal.”

The delegation from West Ham United Managing Director, Angus Kinnear are expected to be in Lagos on Wednesday, and Nnewi on Thursday where they will entertain questions and also provide more details on the Talent hunt programme.

It could be recalled that Ifeanyi Ubah and the London club recently signed a partnership deal on football related matters. Meanwhile, French football giants Paris Saint German, last week also unveiled a partnership with Irukka in Lagos with the aim of setting up an academy in Nigeria.
