Full Disclosure: Meet Some Of The Real Owners Of UBA

United Bank for Africa, UBA is amongst Nigeria’s 6th largest banks with Nigerian owners. The bank’s net asset was NGN2,8 trillion as at the end of 2016 half year.

But not many people are quite familiar with some of the real owners of the bank.

In a regulatory disclosure released to the Nigerian Stock Exchange by the bank, UBA listed its current directors who are majority shareholders in the bank.

Tony Elumelu

He is the founder and pioneer CEO of UBA. He is the majority shareholder in the bank through two companies he started during his reign at the bank.

HH Capital owns 140,843,816 units of shares while Heirs Holdings owns 1,742,180,600 units of shares in the bank, making Tony Elumelu, the highest shareholder in the bank with a cummulative holding of 1,8 billion units od shares in the bank.

Phillips Oduoza

He is the immediate past CEO of the bank, Phillips Oduoza  through a company called BOP Integrated Investment Limited owns 18,979,657 shares in UBA.

Rose Okwechime

Through her comppany called Infant Jesus Academy, Rose Okwechime owns 30,113,961 units of shares in the bank as the end of 2016 half year.

She is also on the board of Abbey Mortgage Bank

Kola Jamodu

He is widely known in the corporate board room of Nigeria. He is not just the current Chairman of PZ Cussons PLC, through his company called JAMKOL Investment Limited, Kola Jamodu owns 64,510 units of shares in UBA.

Foluke Abdulrazaq

As an accomplished banker and a former commissioner in Lagos state, Foluke Abdulrazaq owns 11,120,000 units of shares in UBA through Bridge House College.

Owners

Last and not the least is Ja’afaru. Through his company Paki NYMEX Investment Limited owns 23,924,983 units of shares in UBA.
