Ex-Stanchart, Yemi Osindero Sets Up Uhuru Investment Partners

Yemi Osindero

Yemi Osindero, the former head of West Africa at Standard Chartered Private Equity, SCPE to start Uhuru Investment Partners, a private equity firm.

He joined forces with Nana Dankwa, who has also departed SCPE.

In his Bloomberg profile, Osindero joined SCPE in 2008. Dr. Osindero served as the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Air Nigeria Development Limited. He was the Chief Strategy Officer at the company. He served as the Chief Strategy Officer at Virgin Nigeria Airways Limited.

He served as the Chief Operating Officer of Virgin Nigeria Airways, which he co-founded in 2005. He also worked at Goldman Sachs. Before that, he served as an Investment Manager with Virgin Management.

He has 16 years of corporate experience in a variety of geographies, industries and roles. He has been a Director at Union Bank of Nigeria plc since February 16, 2012. Dr. Osindero served as a Director of Seven Energy International Limited.

He serves as Director GZ Industries Limited AND KANN. He serves as Director of Standard Chartered Private Equity. He served as Director of Virgin Nigeria Airways. He has several years of experience in international investment banking, foreign direct investment and venture capital, coupled with emerging market operational and business development experience.

He holds a First Class degree in Engineering. He has a Ph.D. and a B.Eng (First Class Hons) in Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering from the University of Bath.
